Buxton inscriptions

John Henry Buxton (15 August 1849 to 2 March 1934) was the grandson of Samuel Gurney, one of the founders of Metropolitan Drinking Fountain and Cattle Trough Association. Buxton was a director of Truman, Hanbury, Buxton Brewery; and also a trustee of the MDFCTA. It's not surprising that he donated the funds for many troughs in the UK and in Italy. Six of these troughs are extant but many more have been lost.
