Are there any more Metropolitan Drinking Fountain and Cattle Trough Association cattle troughs in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames? If you know of any other cattle troughs in Richmond upon Thames please send me details.
In March 1879 a "special" trough [0712] was erected at the top of Richmond Hill outside the Star & Garter Hotel. There is an elaborate trough and fountain outside the Star and Garter home but this was erected in 1891.
In November 1899 a 9ft 6in trough [1401] was erected at Hampton Court Palace by Hampton Court Gates. It was paid for by Mrs. Braybrook and almost certainly includes her name in an inscription. It may have been removed in 1937.
In June 1904 a 9ft 6in trough [1629] was erected in Hampton Wick High Street by the Jubilee Memorial fountain.
On 30 June 1931 a 6ft 6in trough [2036 & 2502] was moved from the junction of Wood Lane and Gale Street, Barking (original date 14 September 1916) to the depot yard, London Road, Twickenham.
On 31 December 1913 a 6ft 6in trough [1976] was erected at The Green, Hampton at the corner of Upper Sunbury Road and Lower Sunbury Road. It was the gift of Harry Collins Esq. and almost certainly includes his name in an inscription.
An MDFCTA trough may have been moved to 2 Tapestry Court, 99 Mortlake High St, S.W.14.
An MDFCTA trough may have been moved to a development in Richmond Town Centre developed by Griffon Land Estates.
