Comments | The MDFCTA records for this trough are confusing. Firstly, they describe it as type 1a 18ft trough. It is described as the gift of the association removed from Grand Parade Brighton. This would make it originally MDFCTA number [1165] which was originally erected in Marlborough Place, Brighton, Sussex in January 1888. This trough was the gift of Miss J.E. Gordon and cost £64.0.0. It was struck off 22-July-1898. Presumably moved to the New Forest after storage in a council depot? One of a number of troughs and fountains that were dedicated to Queen Victoria. |
