Comments | Originally at the edge of Nutfield parish. Erected by association. £17-10 was raised locally by Capt. Pirkis. The trough is erected in memory of the horses that died in the South African War. I can't understand how the year of erected (1901) is earlier than the year on the inscription (1902). One of many troughs with an inscription that refers to the Boer War. |
