CommentsThis is almost certainly not an MDFCTA fountain and has been included for completeness only. The fountain was refurbished and relocated in December 2012, with some financial support from the Drinking Fountain and Cattle Trough Association. It was unveiled on 4th December 2012 in its present location by Jon Matthews, chairman of the IW Family History Society. Sir John Stephen Barrington Simeon, 4th Baronet, MP, JP,DL, was born in 1850 and died in 1909. He was Member of Parliament for Southampton from 1895 to 1900, and lived at the family estate Swainston Manor. This cattle trough, also in Newport, is dedicated to Sir Barrington Simeon.
